Why we started?

Our journey began when our founder, puzzled by an unexpectedly high electric bill. He questioned how so much electricity was consumed in a single month. With expertise in industrial automation, data analysis, and electrical engineering, he took the initiative to install a home energy monitoring system. This allowed him to accurately identify what was using electricity, when it was being used, and how much energy each device consumed.

After a month, he checked the data and found that two areas used much more power than expected. He looked into it and found a small refrigerator and a dehumidifier were causing the high usage. Both devices seemed to be working fine.

However, the data revealed a different story: the dehumidifier was running 75% of the day due to a malfunction, and the refrigerator was operating 80% of the day due to dust buildup was preventing it from cooling properly. After replacing the dehumidifier and cleaning the refrigerator, their usage dropped by 85%, leading to an overall reduction in energy consumption of 18%. This saved him $350 a year?

He wondered: How long has this been happening? How much money have I wasted? And how many other homeowners are wasting electricity and money?
